No stranger to the stage, film or television, New Jersey-born, New York raised, Dorian Missick is a true artistic Renaissance man. This versatile actor burst onto the entertainment scene where he starred alongside Sandra Bullock and Hugh Grant in “Two Weeks’ Notice.” Currently he plays Detective Ruben Robinson, partner to notable actress Regina King, in TNT’s hit cop-drama series “Southland.”
Before joining Southland, he starred in NBC's drama, "The Cape" and in the critically acclaimed independent movie, "Mooz-lum" as Professor Jamal with Evan Ross and Nia Long. Recently Missick joined the cast of SyFy's "Haven" which just wrapped filming in Nova Scotia for Season 3. He landed the recurring role of Tommy Bowen, a no nonsense Boston Detective whose investigation of a serial killer brings him to the strange town. Missick also landed the title role in the indie film “BIG WORDS” opposite YaYa DaCosta and Gbenga Akinnagbe which wrapped this Summer in NYC. As of this week, he secured a recurring lead role on "Paging Dr. Freed", an original sitcom pilot for the USA Network.
Listed in the top 10 list of upcoming leading men via IMDB, Missick has a growing career and passion for music. This Bahamian rooted Renaissance man is an acredited actor, established DJ, devout Christian and newly married. He’s also a sports fanatic, athletic, mentor to young boys in South Central Los Angeles, fashionable and opinionated.
