Dubbed “The Black Sundance,” the Hollywood Black Film Festival (HBFF) is an annual 4-day celebration of Black Cinema drawing together established filmmakers, popular film and TV stars, writers, directors, industry executives, emerging artists, and diverse audiences from Southern California and around the world. HBFF’s INFOTAINMENT CONFERENCE features a wealth of informational panels and workshops covering a wide variety of topics which include: film production, distribution and marketing, pitching, writing for television and film, in addition to specific programs designed to inform and educate actors.

D.W. Brown is the co-owner and head instructor of the Joanne Baron/D.W. Brown Studio.

D.W. discovered a profound appreciation of the Mesiner Method after extensive training and he subsequently became an instructor. He has trained actors, writers, and directors for the past twenty five years at The Joanne Baron/D.W. Brown Studio. He has conducted seminars with actors such as Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Robert De Niro, Dustin Hoffman, Anthony Hopkins, Sean Penn, and Susan Sarandon and directors such as Sam Raimi, John Singleton, and Martha Coolidge. Several of the aforementioned he has coached.

D.W. is also a highly regarded writer and director whose projects include One Clean Move, Chloe, and most recently, the feature film, On the Inside, starring Olivia Wilde and Nick Stahl. On the Inside was just released on DVD in July.

Mr. Brown is also an author who penned the critically acclaimed acting guide "You Can Act" and his highly anticipated second book, “2500 Years of Wisdom: Sayings of the Great Masters,” which is scheduled to be published in December 2012.
