Dubbed “The Black Sundance,” the Hollywood Black Film Festival (HBFF) is an annual 4-day celebration of Black Cinema drawing together established filmmakers, popular film and TV stars, writers, directors, industry executives, emerging artists, and diverse audiences from Southern California and around the world. HBFF’s INFOTAINMENT CONFERENCE features a wealth of informational panels and workshops covering a wide variety of topics which include: film production, distribution and marketing, pitching, writing for television and film, in addition to specific programs designed to inform and educate actors.

In the 1990's Mr. Riggs wrote, directed, and produced a variety of mass media. Some of the music videos include rap artist C-Pain in the song "Sincerely Jazz" of EV Management Productions, "Underground Funk" (Compilation) of Columbus Mob/Ratti Records, and "Brand Nu Groove" featuring R&B artist Rated R of EV Management Productions.

In early 2000, Mr. Riggs shifted gears by accepting a position in the aviation industry. In 2006, Mr. Riggs graduated with a B.S. in Aviation Maintenance Management and in 2009, an M.S. in Project Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.

In his first feature, Mr. Riggs served as the writer, director, and co-producer of the film "He Heard My Cry" a Christian friendly film under AUP Entertainment Group, LLC. The movie chronicles the struggles of three professional young men secular and spiritual lives.

I'm very passionate about making positive uplifting African American films, in all genres. We have untapped fiction and non-fiction stories that needs to grace the big screen. If I'm given the "opportunity" my goal is not to follow the status quo, but go where there is no path and blaze a trail.
